Our history
On December 8th, 2006 all 18 Vietnamese students, who study
in undergraduate and graduate schools in National Cheng Kung University, officially
formed the Vietnamese Students Association (VSA). VSA has been registered
under legal registration process of NCKU.
We have all agreed to join the association for the objectives of introducing
and promoting the Vietnamese culture, history, beauties in NCKU as well as
in other communities of Taiwan. Through VSA, we can widely share, communicate
and exchange ideas and lives with other international students. Besides, we
can also internally and externally increase solidarity friendship in Vietnamese
and international communities in Taiwan. Initially, VSA members are Vietnamese
studying in Taiwan. We greatly welcome all other international students and
scholars who care about Vietnam to join VSA.
From the foundation time until now, VSA organized and joined some events and
activities in order to spread Vietnamese culture, language and develop itself.
On March 23th, 2007, Vietnam Cultural Day was successfully held after six
months of preparation. Two days later, VSA joined International Food Festival
held by NCKU with some special Vietnamese foods. Besides of activities inside
NCKU, VSA also participated other organizations’ events such as 2007
Mother Day by Christian Love Neighbor Community, Tainan; 2007 International
Labor Festival by Tainan Council, 2007 Vietnamese and Taiwanese Graduation
Exchange.etc. Moreover, VSA also cooperated with other organizations and groups
to help Vietnamese wives in Tainan, teaching Vietnamese to Taiwanese, and
spread Vietnamese culture over Taiwan.
On October 10th, 2007, VSA organized an election to choose the new committee
of 2008-2009. The new committee was set up with an activity plan for coming
period.
At the moment, VSA is preparing Vietnam Cultural Week which is going to be
held at the end of March, 2008.
